The Last Shift
The motel closes at midnight. You're the one who locks up.
The Last Shift is a short, tense top-down horror game made for the Nightmare Anthology jam. Each of the three nights gives you a closing checklist — lock the doors, switch off the lights, haul the trash to the dumpster, check the guest rooms. Simple work. Except you're not alone in the building.
It moves when it can't be seen. Your flashlight freezes it — but the battery won't last forever, and every light you switch off for your checklist is one fewer safe zone. By the third night, it's learning: light only slows it down.
- 3 escalating nights, ~5–10 minutes total
- Light-and-darkness stealth: raycast flashlight, lamp safe zones, battery management
- Procedural everything: all art drawn in code, all audio synthesized live — no assets, single HTML file
- Keyboard controls, runs in the browser, no install
Made with AI-assisted development — all code, art, and audio are original to this project.
Controls:
- WASD / Arrow keys — move
- E — interact (doors, light switches, trash, room checks)
- F — flashlight on/off
- P / Esc — pause
